Elisabeth Schilling is a dancer and dance maker. Trained at Dr. Hoch’s Konservatorium Frankfurt, TrinityLaban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as well as London Contemporary Dance School, she went on to perform for dance companies and independent artists all around Europe such as Scottish Dance Theatre, Koen Augustin (Les Ballets C de la B), Sasha Waltz, Theo Clinkard, Mamia Company, EDge, Reinhild Hoffmann, Joe Moran, James Wilton, Tony Adigun, Victor Fung Dance, Anu Sistonen, Matthias Sperling, Anna Parkina, Pablo Bronstein, Julia K Gleich, Ula Sickle, Bernard Baumgarten, Rachel Lopez de la Nieta and Dog Kennel Hill Project amongst others. She also performed repertoire by Trisha Brown and participated in artistic research with Damien Jalet, Rosemary Butcher, Jorge Crecis, Henrietta Hale, Judith Sánchez Ruíz, Henri Oguike and Barbara Fuchs.
Next to her work as a performer, Elisabeth is very curious about the development of dance as an art form, which she researches in her own choreographic work as well as in collaboration with different artists, scholars and scientists. Her work has been performed in various festivals around London, Berlin, Helsinki, Bolzano receiving choreographic commissions by TrinityLaban, Scottish Dance Theatre Creative Learning, DACI Copenhagen, Counterpointe London, Trois C-L Luxembourg and Töne Festival. She has received awards from Bolzano Danza, Dance Umbrella (Young Spark nominated by Gill Clarke) and Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur, Mainz.
One of her artworks (created in collaboration with Benjamin Kummer) is currently on display at the Saatchi Gallery, London.
